As part of the SIT Open Lecture and STEAM Program, GEL-SIT hosted “Mystery Solving Course in Civil Engineering: Experiencing Liquefaction in a University Laboratory.” Amidst intense heat, 38 elementary school students, who had just started their summer vacation, participated in a hands-on experiment that simulated soil liquefaction. The children’s smiling faces and their thoughtful discussions on how to prevent liquefaction greatly inspired us, the event organizers.
We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to AOMI Construction Co., Ltd. for their invaluable support in organizing this lecture, and to the staff and students of GEL-SIT for their contributions.
