Dr. Koki Nakao, a Postdoctoral Research Fellow, served as a lecturer at the ‘Seminar on the Latest Trends in Moving Particle Simulation (MPS) and Distinct Element Method (DEM)’. His presentation, titled “Visualization and Evaluation of In-Ground Phenomena Using MPS and DEM”, introduced cutting-edge topics at the intersection of geotechnical engineering and computational simulation. The lively exchange of questions from participants highlighted how MPS as well as DEM can clarify the complex behaviors of geotechnical phenomena. This led to a productive discussion between Dr. Nakao and the attendees.
