Today, the Global PBL Program (gPBL), planned and organized by our laboratory, officially kicked off at the Toyosu Campus 🌏
Hosted by Shibaura Institute of Technology (SIT), the program has brought together approximately 250 students and faculty members from the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT), Kasetsart University (KU), King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi (KMUTT), King Mongkut’s Institute of Technology Ladkrabang (KMITL), Thammasat University (TU), and National Taiwan University (NTU). The campus is now filled with vibrant international energy, as participants connect and collaborate across national and institutional boundaries.
With the support of the Prof. Miyamoto Laboratory (River and Environmental Engineering Laboratory), the program is conducted under the theme:
“A Civil Engineering Team Approach toward Building a Sustainable Society by Integrating Watershed Water Environments, Geotechnical Conditions, and Urban Infrastructure.”
Over the next 10 days, participants will explore the future of sustainable infrastructure through site visits to major hydraulic facilities such as the Metropolitan Area Outer Underground Discharge Channel and the Tsurumi River Retarding Basin, as well as group work, cultural exchange activities, and poster presentations.
Following the successful opening ceremony, the program has now officially begun.
