The global PBL at SIT has successfully concluded.

From September 8-17, 2025, we successfully conducted a 10-day Global Problem-Based Learning program “Build Tokyo Together: Creating Disaster-Resilient and Inclusive Communities Across Borders” at Shibaura Institute of Technology’s Toyosu Campus. The program brought together 173 civil engineering students from our university and six Asian partner universities, organized into nine collaborative groups.
Participants engaged in diverse activities including bridge-building contests, Japanese cultural experiences, field visits, and research presentations, culminating in poster presentations of creative urban proposals that balanced disaster resilience with multicultural inclusivity. Through this international collaboration, participants gained valuable insights into cross-cultural cooperation and developed foundations as future civil engineers with global perspectives.
